Each day is its own session—no need to attend all three days each week. Before checkout, you’ll choose which session you want to attend.
Ages 8+
(Students ages 8-10 need an adult to attend with them at each session.)
This Level 1 class introduces students to 3d Printers, TinkerCad, OrcaSlicer, and other programs. Students learn to create their own designs and print them in class and at home, as well as find and download other designs. This is the perfect class for beginners who have little experience with computers and no experience with 3D Printing. The pace will be slow enough to keep up but challenging enough to stay engaged. We will be learning how to print objects from files on SD card, how to use online tools to create your own objects to print, how to calibrate the printer, how to troubleshoot, and how to use a variety of tools to elevate your printing prowess. All tools will be provided.
Students need to bring a laptop to class (no chromebooks as they are not compatible with some of the software.)
Students are required to have access to a 3d printer at home for homework. , You will be able to take a 3d printer home with you. You will not need to bring it back to class, as you will continue to have access to 3d printers during class. (If you do not need a 3d printer, for example if a sibling is signing up or you already have one, you may choose the option without a printer for a discount of $150.)
All classes will take place at the Crittenden County 4H Extension office, 116 Center St., Marion, AR 72364
We are only taking 10 students per session, but when a session fills up, we can put you on a waitlist.
